What To Do If Your Cat Is Missing
1. Report your cat as missing right away:
Kenora Cat Shelter: (807) 468-4648
Kenora Veterinary Clinic: (807) 468-7441
City of Kenora Bylaw: (807) 467-2166
Reporting your cat means that if a cat matching their description comes into their care, they can contact you as soon as possible.
2. Search nearby! Check inside your home under beds, inside closets and other small spaces. Check outside under decks, boats, cars, sheds and other quiet hiding spots. Your cat is usually much closer than you think.
3. If your cat is microchipped - contact the microchip company and make sure your information is current. Remember to always update this if you move addresses or change your phone number!
4. Get the word out:
• Post a photo on Facebook and local lost-pet groups
• Put posters up around town
• Tell your neighbours
• The more eyes looking, the better!
5. Borrow a live trap from us! Scared cats, especially cats who aren't used to being outside, may hide during the day and only come out at night when things are quiet. A live trap can greatly increase your chances of safely catching them.
